CE Week Returns to New York City, June 25-29, 2012

CE Week
CEA Line Shows 2012

ARLINGTON, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today announced the dates for the second annual CE Week, June 25-29, 2012, in New York City, and the fifth annual CEA Line Shows, June 27-28, 2012, at the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman Buildings.

“CE Week is now established as a must-attend event for our industry at a pivotal time of year in the media capital of the world”

Plans for the 2012 CE Week showcase and weeklong industry event include expanded on-the-floor demo space and a special, juried pavilion for the best New York start-up innovations. The CEA Line Shows will feature double the amount of exhibitor floorspace, following the sell-out success of the 2011 show.

CE Week in New York City last June drew more than 5,500 attendees, including more than 640 media/analysts and more than 430 retailer/distributors — making it one of the CE industry’s biggest annual events. This represents a 55 percent increase in attendees, including a 39 percent increase in media attendance and a 134 percent increase in retail/distribution attendees, from the previous June 2010 event.

More than 200 companies and 17 event partners unveiled the best new technology products for back-to-school and the holidays. The official CE Week TV channel, GeekBeat TV, reached more than one million viewers during its CE Week coverage.

“CE Week is now established as a must-attend event for our industry at a pivotal time of year in the media capital of the world,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA. “The CEA Line Shows are more successful each year and form a crucial part of CE Week as we add more exhibitors and more compelling attractions. We expect that more new products will be introduced during CE Week than at any other time of year other than the week of the International CES.”
